About Us

Welcome from the Head of the Academy

Thank you for taking time to learn about us. I am fortunate to lead a closely knit community that is wonderfully engaging for its students and faculty. We are a young, growing institution that strives to be worthy of an Episcopal heritage in education that has produced schools of unsurpassed quality.

With small class sizes (14 in kindergarten, 15 in first through fourth grades, 16 in fifth grade, 18 in middle school and 22 in high school), our teachers provide meaningful individual attention to each student and create an atmosphere of trust. Each student is encouraged to stretch toward new goals and develop strength of character.

By tackling interesting classroom assignments with their peers or by running the extra mile at a cross-country team practice, our students learn to push boundaries forward together. Along the way, they experience their own capacity to contribute – and, at times, to lead.

Our growing focus on excellence has heightened local demand. To address an average 30 percent annual growth in enrollment over the past several years, we are breaking ground on a $13 million facility for Grades 6 – 12. St. Paul's Academy is meeting the community's desire for a strong independent school that offers a coherent, classic curriculum, spanning from Preschool through Grade 12. And, with growth, we also achieve greater diversity.

As we build, my main task is to attract and retain an outstanding faculty to fulfill the Academy's mission of excellence. Our faculty will increasingly contribute to the educational ecosystem in Northwest Washington, and will help elevate our region's global standing. I ask community members like you to support us.
