Academics at SPA

The academic programs of St. Paul's Academy aim to provide a strong foundation for learning, global citizenship, and a life of significance. We join other fine schools and universities that celebrate a love of challenging questions, rigorous inquiry, free expression, and service to others. From Pre-K through Grade 12, we help students learn to push forward the boundaries of their own education, so that they may understand and address society's needs.

Since our founding as a preschool in 1973, St. Paul's Academy has remained focused on offering a positive, nurturing environment for learning. We continue to limit class size to 15 at all grade levels, thus ensuring that our students have more opportunity to ask questions and express themselves. Our faculty works in a calm environment where teachers have time to identify the unique learning patterns and development paths of each pupil.

Our classic, structured academic programs equip students with useful skills, and enhance their ability to think critically and solve problems that arise in daily living. Our teachers welcome eager learners of all backgrounds and beliefs, and help them to encounter and explore different perspectives and ways of seeing our world. Students learn to respect and listen to their peers, who naturally become friends.

Our curriculum aims beyond Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs) to prepare students for the challenge and excitement of continued scholarship at fine colleges and universities.
